School Communication

We have a number of regular communication streams within our school community. We also encourage informal communication between staff, parents and students to maintain our sense of community, and to help any concerns that may arise to be quickly resolved, and to celebrate our successes.

Newsletters

A newsletter is sent to each family fortnightly on a Friday. It is our main source of information on the decisions and activities of the previous fortnight and will also keep you up to date on future events/news.

Diaries

Each student has a diary or communication book for communication between parents, class teacher and student.

Assessment and Reporting

Family and teacher interviews are held regularly to discuss progress and to identify learning goals for your child. Parents will receive two written reports each year. Parents and care givers are welcome to contact the school at any time to speak with the class teacher, Principal or Heads of School.

Open Days, Open Nights and Principal’s Tours

Open afternoons are held at the school in Term One. These afternoons give parents, students and teachers an opportunity to visit class rooms and to chat informally. Principal’s tours are conducted each term.

Student Attendance and Absences

To ensure each student’s safety and to comply with Department of Education, Children's Services guidelines, we keep daily attendance records. If your child is absent, you must contact the school office by 12 noon on 8209 1800. We have an obligation to ensure that all student's in our care are safe and secure.

We encourage all students to arrive at school by 8.45am. We understand that there may be unavoidable occasions when students are late, however, we appreciate your best efforts in ensuring your children are here on time. If your child is more than 15 minutes late then you must bring them to the school office.
